HOW DO I START A MIST TEAM?

School-Based Team Structure

  • Only one team per school is permitted

  • All student competitors must attend the same high school

  • Coaches and guests are not required to be students at that school

 Team Size & Eligibility

  • Each team must have at least 1 competitor 

  • There is no maximum limit on competitors, coaches, or guests

  • Teams must have 1 coach for every 10 competitors

Public & Private School Students

  • Students must register with their own high school team

  • An MSA is not required to participate

  • Schools without an MSA may still form a team open to all students in their school 

  • If you cannot form an official club, you can still register a team with support from a teacher, school administrator, or existing student organization.

Homeschooled Students

  • Homeschooled students age 13 or older who do not hold a GED are eligible to compete

  • Homeschooled students may join any high school team, preferably a team near their vicinity

Schools with a small number of competitors are still encouraged to register. If needed, schools may be placed into a coalition team, where two schools are combined and compete together.
